Welcome to Kynoch Chess Club Website

Kynoch Chess Club has been running for over 60 years and its earliest success in the BDCL came with an individual trophy for D J Youston in 1949. Kynoch won the league in 1964 and also in 1968. Kynoch went through a successful spell in the eighties when they won the League from 1981 to 1985, this has only been repeated once by South Birmingham A from 2006 to 2010. The honours won are as follows:

Division 1 Champions 1963/64, 1967/68, 1980/81, 1981/82, 1982/83, 1983/84, 1984/85, 1995/96 and 1997/98. South Birmingham have equaled our 5 in a row but not bettered it.

Division 2 Champions 1983/84 and 1989/90.

Division 3 Champions 1968/69 and 1999/2000.

Division 6 Champions 1993/94, 2006/07 and 2010/11.

Division 7 Champions 1965/66.

Terrill Trophy winners Kynoch 1 1980/81, Kynoch 5 1981/82, Kynoch 1 1987/88, Kynoch 1 1997/98, Kynoch 2 2006/07.

Individual champions:

Division 1 - J.A.Lawrence 1967/68, K.R.Ingram 1974/75, 1979/80, 1988/89 and 2013/14.

Division 2 - D.J.Youston 1948/49, G.B.Dawson 1981/82, P.O'Neill 1985/86, K.R.Ingram 2005/06 and 2013/14.

Division 3 - J.A.Lawrence 1955/56.

Division 4 - B.Lewis 1955/56.

Division 5 - H.Clark 1960/61, B.C.Drury 1972/73.

Division 6 - R.C.Gill 1980/81, B.Dawson 1987/88 and 2008/09.

Division 7 - P.L.Arnold 1970/71.
